Prior to your surgery, we will provide you with an Estimate of Medical Fees/ Informed Financial Consent (IFC) that shows Dr Gianduzzo’s estimated surgical costs prior to surgery. Please speak to Staff preferably before your surgery if you need clarification on costs you are liable to pay that will not be covered by Medicare or your health Fund.  This is known as “the gap”.

The Sunshine Coast Urology Clinic is a “Known Gap” Provider with most Health Funds and in some cases may provide “No Gap” services on a case-by-case basis. There may be other charges from the Anaesthetist, Radiology and Pathology. Depending on your level of cover, some health funds also require you to pay an excess on admission to the hospital.

Operation Account Processing – Privately Insured Patients

Dr Gianduzzo’s account will be submitted electronically to your Health Fund for processing for most Funds.

Anaesthetist, Pathology, Radiology accounts are entirely separate to this practice.  They will be issued after your operation and any queries regarding these accounts should be directed to the issuing Provider.

Hospital charges will be direct billed to your Health Fund and any excess applicable to your Health Fund cover will need to be paid on admission to Hospital.

Uninsured patients may elect to be treated in a private hospital.  Dr Gianduzzo can also refer uninsured patients on to the public hospital system for further treatment if preferred.
