Dr. Tony Gianduzzo

Urological Surgeon
Dr Tony Gianduzzo was educated in Queensland and obtained his medical degree in Brisbane in 1983. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. He completed his Urological training in Queensland, and has been resident on the Sunshine Coast since 1993. He has been heavily involved in the development of high quality local facilities for the Sunshine Coast for some 20 years, and has acted in board and other key leadership roles in the development of the The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. He was Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for some 15 years and continues on as a member, and also continues on as a founding member of the Quality and Safety Committee. Dr. Gianduzzo’s particular interests are in Laser prostate surgery, the diagnosis and management of Prostate Cancer, and treating urinary stones. He is heavily involved in developing and validating high quality multi-parametric MRI of the prostate services on the Sunshine Coast as an adjunct to biopsy in the more reliable identification and characterisation of significant early prostate cancer, while minimising over diagnosis and over treatment of insignificant disease. Ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy or extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is available to provide minimally invasive management of urinary stones. He operates at The Sunshine Private Hospital, Buderim.  He consults at Buderim, Caloundra, Coolum and Kawana.
